FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 7, 2016
HealthCare California has announced that Roxanne M. Hew, Director of Patient Care Services, and Mary P. Amone, Quality Assurance Coordinator, have successfully completed the Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical exam and may now use the COS-C designation. This was a renewal of the COS-C designation for Ms. Hew while Ms. Amone achieved a first-time COS-C designation.
OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) is officially the data collection tool used by Medicare to ensure standard quality care is being provided by home health agencies across the U.S. To achieve the COS-C designation, sponsored by OASIS Answers, Inc. (OAI), an individual must successfully complete a 100 item, two and one half hour exam. This exam is the only nationally standardized, psychometrically validated test that evaluates a clinician's knowledge of CMS' OASIS guidelines.
In commenting on this milestone, Devin S. Nugent, Chief Executive Officer, stated:
We are proud of this accomplishment by both Roxanne and Mary. We firmly believe supporting employees through programs such as the COS-C not only enhances the skillset of our team members, but also solidifies HealthCare California's commitment to quality in both our patient care and clinical documentation standards.
