HEALTHCARE CALIFORNIA CONTINUES LOW ACUTE CARE HOSPITALIZATION RATE
Today, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), released data that HealthCare California achieved a 14.1% Acute Care Hospitalization (ACH) rate for the second month in a row. The rate reflects the number of patients readmitted to a hospital within 30 days. The company's ACH rate was 14.1% for both October and November of 2014 compared to an average State rate of 19.45% over those same months.
In commenting on this milestone, Devin S. Nugent, Chief Executive Officer, stated:
We continue to be elated with HealthCare California's track record in keeping patients out of the hospital. This is a credit to our excellent clinical team that enforces care protocols with patients who are at-risk for a hospital readmission. We know HealthCare California's track record of being 30-40% better than the California averages in hospital readmissions is an important factor when patients, family members and health care providers are choosing a home health agency.
